Photographs my city

Photographs of my city

The book has been produced by Toby Wood, vice chair of the Society. It is a fascinating collection of all his own photographs covering a wide diversity of subjects, samples below to whet your appetite. All proceeds go to the charity "Helping Our Ukrainian Friends". Toby describes his book as follows:-

"This book is not about Peterborough, it is about my Peterborough, from the magnificence of the Cathedral’s west front to a butterfly in our garden on the edge of Dogsthorpe. This book is a personal celebration of my home city, Peterborough, the place where I was born, brought up, in which I worked and retired. It is a collection of favourite snaps, the majority of which have been taken with various versions of iPhones as I have walked round the city over the past ten years or so. In the book I am trying to demonstrate that most people can take pictures of everyday things in their locality.

Think of these photos as cheese and onion crisps, all from the same packet but with each one a different shape yet with a similar taste.

I want to show you my Peterborough – the good, the memorable, the mundane, the quirky and the random. Consequently this is not a guide book or a glossy publication designed to show off every aspect of the city at its best. It is a book intended to encourage those people living in or visiting Peterborough to look around and take just a little more notice."

The book is priced at £10.00. To order please visit our sales page or can be purchased at our monthly meetings.
